About PowerFlowStudio

PowerFlowStudio, New Haven's premier studio offering Pilates and Gyrotonic exercise methods, offers a peaceful place to experience the mind-body approach to movement, health and wellbeing. We invite and inspire you to achieve strength, freedom of movement, flexibility and balance with the Classic Pilates Method, Gyrotonic and more.

Our New Haven studio is located at 319 Peck Street in historic Erector Square. With its 2000 sq. ft. open studio, you can experience fitness and wellness in a sun-filled space with 20 ft. ceilings, exposed brick and beams and the original wood floors.

PowerFlow has all of the custom-built Pilates equipment originally designed by Joseph Pilates and built by Balanced Body and Peak Pilates. We offer private and duet training on three Universal Reformers, the Cadillac, the Tower, the Ladder Barrel, the Wunda Chair and the EXO Chair. We offer private Gyrotonic sessions on the Cobra, Juliu Horvath’s latest version of the Pulley Tower Combination Unit.

As the first studio offering Pilates and Gyrotonic exercise methods in the Greater New Haven area, we are pleased to offer the classic Pilates Method as originally designed by Joseph H. Pilates, and Gyrotonic, as created by Juliu Horvath. All of our classically trained instructors are dedicated and committed teachers fully certified by the Pilates Method Alliance, Balanced Body University, Power Pilates, Peak Pilates, The PhysicalMind Institute, Gyrotonic, ACE, and AFAA. PowerFlow is a proud member of the Pilates Method Alliance.

PowerFlow is also the only Connecticut certifying studio that offers certifications & teacher trainings in the Classic Pilates Method, formerly for The PhysicalMind Institute and Balanced Body University, and currently for the PowerFlowMETHOD®. Certification classes are taught by Melanie Johnson.

Melanie has been voted New Haven’s “Best Personal Trainer” and PowerFlowStudio has been voted “Best Pilates Studio” 2000–2009 by the annual New Haven Advocate Reader’s Poll.
